Our work in Vietnam is based on a framework agreement between the Foundation and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO). We cooperate with Vietnamese organizations to share liberal values, foster economic freedom and promote the rule of law.

Our Partners:

  • People's Aid Coordinating Commitee (PACCOM)
    PACCOM is a specialised functional body of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations. The cooperation between FNF and PACCOM seeks to raise the understanding about the activities of NGOs in Vietnam, to promote best practices, experiences and lessons learnt. Moreover, we seek to enhance the working capacity of PACCOM staff nationwide.
  • Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM)
    CIEM was founded in 1978 and granted the status of a National Institute directly under the Ministry of Planning and Investment. CIEM’s functions are to research issues related to economic reforms and advise the Government in formulating socio-economic development policies. CIEM and FNF are cooperating in the research and proposal of solutions related to the socio-economic development plans, public investment reforms and state-owned enterprise reforms in Vietnam.
  • Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)
    VCCI is a national organization that assembles and represents the business community, employers, and business associations from all economic sectors. The cooperation between VCCI and FNF seeks to transfer knowledge from the provinces that are economically better off to the poorer parts of the country. The cooperation focuses on issues like improvements of the economic environment and enhancements of provincial competitiveness.
  • Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) 
    VEPR provides the government agencies, international organizations, enterprises and media with high-quality consulting and training services based on research results and expert networks. FNF cooperates with VEPR by organizing annual Summer Schools for Journalists, building an economic library and publishing the English Newsletter for Economics and Policy Development in Vietnam.
  • Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation (DMEC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vietnam (MOFA)
    FNF cooperates with DMEC in organizing regional and national conferences on topics like international integration, economic restructuring and transformation of growth models, and sustainable development in Viet Nam. We further support DMEC by short-term researches to provide policy recommendations on international integration and also training of junior diplomats.
  • University of Economics and Business (UEB)
    UEB belongs to the National University Hanoi, the leading ecademic institution of the country. FNF cooperates with UEB by organizig the "Business Challenges" Award for students. This pilot project, which began in 2018, aims to create a platform for creative ideas and concepts for young startups and entrepreneurs. This is also an attempt to bring university education closer to practice. 

FNF also coperates with the Central Committe of Economics (CEC) of the Communist Party Vietnam, the Vietnam Institute of Economics (VIE), the Vietnamesisch-Deutsche Freundschaftsgesellschaft (VDFG), the Centre for Family Support and Community Development (CFSCD), the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA), the National Centre for Socio-Economic Information and Forecast (NCIP/MPI), the People Committee of privince Bang Giang, and the Insitute of Social and Economic Research of province Bac Ninh.
